Abraham-Hicks Guided Meditations

Gosh I've been away a long time! Spending less time on the computer and more time doing other things--guess that's not a bad thing!

When I went to the Abraham-Hicks session in Denver recently I was pleased to hear that they were going to be coming out with guided meditations...I do much better with walking meditations or guided meditations if I'm going to be sitting. So I have been happily waiting, knowing they will arrive at the right time.

Abraham-Hicks, Louise Hay and Weight Loss Success

I spoke at an Abraham-Hicks meet up group last month. They wanted to hear how I have applied some of the Abraham-Hicks concepts to weight loss. It was really great to connect with a group of like-minded people and to be able to share some of my weight loss success tips.

I typically spend a couple hours every day...not all at once...listening to teachings from Abraham. I have heard them over and over...and yet I still hear something new just about every day.

The other morning I was watching one of the DVDs that was of a workshop that took place in Carlsbad, CA and guess who I noticed in the front row--Louise Hay! I don't know how many times I watched that DVD without seeing her...I guess there was a reason I saw her this time!

Louise is another teacher I really admire...and I have learned so much from her...and she really helped me to improve my self-image and lose weight. So, the combination of Louise and Abraham was wonderful to see. That would be the ideal workshop for me...well, maybe a few others present would be awesome too.

I have to laugh at myself...I don't fawn over the typical celebrity, but I think I might be a bit tongue-tied if I were face to face with Ms. Hay

Remember to Love Yourself

Loving oneself is not about feeling superior to others (that's not love)...love for yourself is a healthy respect for the being that is you. When we love ourselves we take care of ourselves and we also attract more good into our lives.

If you want a little help to remember to love yourself, you can actually get a shirt that will help! The clothing is available at retail stores...to find out more about the company and where you can get the clothes, check out their site a www.loveyourself.com

They have lots of links to some of our faves like Hay House, Abraham-Hicks and many, many more great teachers...you can also sign up for a Daily Love motivation

I really like their page with quotes about what some of our wonderful teachers say about what loving yourself means...

Enjoy--and remember, you deserve love!

And if you struggle with weight loss, read about loving yourself and losing weight at Refuse To Diet

Open to the Possibility of a Kindle?

I just got an email...okay, I just READ an email...that said you can get an Amazon Kindle for only $299.

At first I didn't see how that would relate to this blog...but then I realized there are a lot of fantastic books on Law of Attraction that are available through Amazon...so I figured I would share the news.

I don't own a Kindle, but I have been thinking about it. I guess I would really want to see one in person and play with a bit before I decide to buy one. To me that is the downside to buying things online.

I mean, if I go to a store and try it out I'm not going to then go home and buy it online, right. And reading about something and all the bells and whistles is just not the same as holding it in your hand and trying it.

That being said, I have heard so many people rave about it that I've thought about it. Maybe that is why the email jumped out at me today...because I am being open to the possibility!

I do like the idea of having lots of books in such a small package, she says as she moves 4 books aside so she has room for her water glass! But I also really like how holding a book feels. I guess I'm torn. So I guess I probably won't get one until I am clear that it is what I want...maybe I can borrow one and see if I like it...how about that.

I'm open to the possibility that I will be able to have the experience of holding a Kindle and reading a book on it to see if that is something that would result in rockets of desire (right Abraham?)

Weight Loss Naturally with Abraham-Hicks

This is an awesome video with Abraham discussing losing weight and the benefits of having strong desire. It features a discussion with a woman who has tried every diet which I can relate to.

I love the teachings of Abraham and applied many of them to my body and used it to develop my own philosophy to lose 120 pounds.

Would sure be great to hear how this woman has made out.

I know that it is possible. If you want to know more about my philosophy and journey check out Refuse To Diet

Inner Voice

So many of the great teachers of today are reminding us that finding our passion, doing things that bring us joy is one of the best things we can do in this life--for ourselves and for the Universe.

Louise Hay teaches that we all deserve to feel good and that we have an inner wisdom that will guide us. Wayne Dyer tells us to be open to the inner voice. Doreen Virtue says to be open to the guidance of the angels. I could go on and on...Abraham teaches to reach for the better feeling thought, so he would definitely concur with this:
My dad always used to say, "If you take a step and it feels good, you must be headed in the right direction." What he wanted us to understand was that we needed to measure our progress against an inner compass, using our feelings, our comfort level, and our knowledge of ourselves as the ultimate guide.

I've spent most of my adult life trying to hear that inner voice above the noise around me...It says softly that happiness is as simple as having something to look forward to in the morning...It says, in a low murmur I sometimes have to strain to hear, that now is the time to have fun.
~Linda Weltner, No Place Like Home

Let me remember to listen to (and hear) that inner voice as it reminds me to follow my bliss. Now is the time to HAVE FUN, whatever that means for ME!

Fear is the Opposite of Love

There are 2 basic emotions: love and the lack of love. Some people will say that the opposite of love is hate. But where does hate really come from? Fear. When we are not coming from love, we are actually coming from fear.

Esther & Jerry Hicks refer to this in the Teachings of Abraham (Check out the book Ask and It Is Given...great!) So does scientist Gregg Braden. Many other fantastic teachers point this out.

When you want to manifest, or attract, something into your life (some thing or person or event or skill...you name it) it is crucial to be aware of the emotion behind the desire.

Coming from love will allow you to attract what you want. The same exact thoughts that are powered by fear will bring you the lack of what you want or some other negative aspect of what you want.

Abraham uses an example about money...if you desire to have more money, you can not attract it if your feelings are about the lack of money, or jealousy that someone else has money and you don't.

Whether it is money, or health or an ideal relationship, if we come from our place of "not having" or fear of not getting it, then we will not attract it into our lives. I wrote a post last month in response to a question about this topic...if you didn't read it then, check it out by clicking here.

My goal is to approach everything from a place of love. I am not perfect at it (yet!) but I am on the path. I am pleased that my awareness grows every day and I find myself being more clear and loving all the time.

I believe when we all come from this loving place there will be peace on earth. And isn't that a lovely (and loving) thought!

Being Open to Abundance

To me, abundance is not merely financial. It refers to an attitude that spills over to everything that we do. By being open to abundance, I am open to time, energy, joy, love, beauty, simplicity and whatever else I decide I want to experience in my life.

I had to file some documents for one of my businesses with the Secretary of State's office, and have been putting it off (and off and off!) I had this memory that while it was easy to submit the documents online, there were lots of attachments and supporting docs that I had to prepare.

I think I was practicing abundance as in "having lots to do" in regards to this.

This morning, I was reading in Ask and It Is Given, a process to help raise my vibration about this task, so that I was open to the abundance of the universe, rather than creating resistance with my dread. I chose the "Focus Wheel Process". Being very aware of what I did not want (a difficult, long, tedious, stressful process) I then proceeded to write what I did want. I wrote things like how simple it is to file online, how nice it is that the SOS sends reminders that these docs need to be filed, so I don't have to worry about missing deadlines, I don't have to do it all in one sitting...on and on I went around the wheel and by the end I was feeling really good about submitting my docs.

So, a few hours later, I'm at my computer ready to start the process and I review my wheel, and I start to read the SOS info. Instead of what I remembered to be the case, it was a very straight-forward form and I was easily done in less than 10 minutes!

I am so grateful that I was open to the teachings of Abraham, this morning in particular. I am so grateful that I chose to delay filing the forms from yesterday, because by doing so I was able to raise my vibration and be open to the ease of the process.

Did the filing procedure actually change from when I last looked? Or was I misremembering/misreading the information? Or was I over complicating things? I do not know, and I do not care! The simple fact is that it was easy and I have completed a task that was looming overhead. I now have that paperwork filed away and one less thing to do!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Learning to Allow

I'm re-reading, Ask and It is Given. I'm in the middle of a big project right now and have found myself to not always have the best energy during the process. This book is helping me to refocus on the art of allowing. If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it.

I actually have the CDs and the book and I like to listen to Jerry Hick's reading of the book while I read along. Then I frequently stop the audio and reread sections.

I have a tendency to drive through on projects...go, go, go, get 'er done. That can be efficient in a sense and I never had an employer complain. Now that I work for myself I find that there can be a disadvantage to it. Since my office is in my house, it is quite easy for me to want to work 24/7...and have the ability to do it.

That means the rest of my life could fall into major disarray. Of course that is not the way to live a balanced life. It isn't good for health for one. And it isn't good to let all the other projects and people in my life fall to the way side while I focus entirely on one aspect of my life. Not only is it not good for the rest of your life, it can lead to burnout and fatigue in the work arena too. So, while in the short term it may be a benefit at work in the long run it isn't.

The separation of work from home life when you physically go from one building to your home, can make for a healthy break. Esther and Jerry Hicks and Abraham help me to work through some of the challenges I am facing at the moment.

Today I came back from my morning walk and I just wasn't in a super positive energy. A few days ago I would have forced myself to go into the office and work, because it was time to. This morning I decided to read some more in the book, even though I had already had my morning reading session. I read some of the exercises in the book which are to help you bring your vibration / attraction level up. It really helped a lot and I was able to be a much more positive and I believe productive worker for the rest of the day.

There was an exercise, or "game", that I read the other day, called "The Rampage of Appreciation" which I really liked. For each of the exercises/processes/games there is a emotional scale level that the exercise is most suited for. When I read the "Rampage of Appreciation", I didn't really believe it...I thought I would be able to apply that exercise any time. Well, I found out this morning that I was wrong and Abraham was right (imagine that!) I tried to apply the game today and I just couldn't hold my vibration level up. That was what sent me back to my library to read some more, to see if I could find a different game that would work to bring my level up.

I found several that will work. Now my challenge will be to start actually practicing them so that I gain the skills to make it easier and easier.
